Prasant Mohanty is fascinated by the logical and analytic approach of statistics and the magical way it transforms straightforward information into captivating stories. The physiological complexity and wide real-life use of electrophysiology procedures made EP research a natural career choice.
In October 2008, Prasant joined Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute as a clinical biostatistician. He has actively contributed to several research projects. The primary focus of his research is on exploring the complex electrophysiological dynamics of post-ablation remodeling and identifying the factors that determine procedural success. Prasant's research efforts are dedicated to the primary goal of reducing atrial fibrillation burden and preventing recurrence.
Prasant received his medical degree from S.C.B. Medical College, Orissa, India. He completed his Master of Public Health degree in epidemiology and biostatistics from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Fort Worth, Texas. Following completion of his degrees, Prasant worked in the fields of epidemiology and biostatistics for several years and gained specialized experience in health care research. He has extensive experience in analyzing clinical data, designing relational database, and in statistical modeling. He is a certified SAS programmer.
