Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute at St. David's Medical Center To Present More Than 20 Abstracts At American Heart Association's Scientific Sessions 2011

AUSTIN, Texas—In November 2011, the Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute (TCAI) at St. David’s Medical Center research team will present a total of 21 abstracts at the American Heart Association’s annual Scientific Sessions 2011 in Orlando, Fla. Topics include atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia ablations and device-based therapy, including lead extraction. TCAI coordinates research through centers in the United States and Europe.

“From a scientific standpoint, it is an extraordinary honor to have so many abstracts accepted at such an internationally significant meeting,” Andrea Natale, M.D., F.H.R.S., F.A.C.C., F.E.S.C., cardiac electrophysiologist and executive medical director of TCAI, said. “We believe this re-emphasizes our commitment to improving medical care in the field of electrophysiology.”

The Scientific Sessions are the largest gatherings of scientists and health care professionals devoted to the science of cardiovascular disease and stroke, as well as the care of patients suffering from these diseases. According to the Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association, more than 17,000 professionals attend annually, with more than 22,000 total attendees.

Sessions will be held Nov. 12 through 16, and exhibits will be presented Nov. 13 through 15.
