Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute at St. David's Medical Center Hosts International Symposium on Treating Cardiac Arrhythmias Using Stereotaxis Robotic Equipment

AUSTIN, Texas—On February 9 and 10, 2011, the Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute (TCAI) at St. David’s Medical Center hosted an international symposium designed to examine the treatment of complex heart arrhythmias.

The symposium, “Remote Navigation for the Treatment of Complex Heart Arrhythmias,” focused on the use of Stereotaxis robotic equipment. Topics of discussion included magnetic navigation in ventricular- and atria-based procedures, clinical outcomes in challenging complex procedures through magnetic navigation, and discussion of the first-ever remote Lasso guidance at Erasmus University. It also featured the presentation of a live atria case.

The symposium featured J. David Burkhardt, M.D., F.H.R.S., F.A.C.C., Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist at TCAI; Rodney Horton, M.D., Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist at TCAI; and other TCAI staff members. Approximately 30 attendees from across the globe attended the conference.
